Melissa is a very busy and devoted Mom in her 40s who was referred to us by a fellow client. She works, takes care of her family, and even makes room to volunteer part time.
Like many people Melissa wanted a better body. But she also wanted to FEEL better. Have more energy for her work and her family. She wanted to be confident, not lethargic or lackluster about life. Have the mental and physical energy to spend on the people and pursuits she loved.
When Melissa came to us she was worried that because she was no longer in her 20’s or 30’s that she couldn't get the results she wanted from her body. Also, even though she wanted to eat and cook in a healthy way for her and her family, not having the time and knowledge on what to do made Melissa feel apprehensive. Fast Food was more convenient and readily available.
WHAT DID DHS DO TO HELP?
We understood that Melissa’s goals were not just physical. They were a part of her life who she was and wanted to be. So we helped her visualize and claim that complete Lifestyle. That included empowering her with tools so that she could have control. We taught her how to get out of pain. We gave her step by step routines that would progress with her. Pushing her little by little to reach her potential
Obviously Nutrition was a big part of what we did to help Melissa. We taught her principles of healthy eating. What to focus on, the principles that are founded on science. Then we helped her adopt health habits into her life so that they would stick long term. For example we helped her SUBSTITUTE food rather than ELIMINATE food. That way the lifestyle she wanted was a joy to live in, not a trial to just endure for a few weeks.
