Spurs- the right Workout motivation?

Do you struggle with Motivation? Want to find a better way? 
Spurs have been used to motivate horses for hundreds of years. More accurately, spurs have been used to make horses do what they don’t want to do. 
 
What is your Motivation? What spurs you to workout? Do you have to force your self to do things you don’t want to do? Sports Psychology is complex, however here are some principles that can help you at the gym and in your life over all. 
​
  • Find deep, meaningful, long-term reasons that compel you to exercise as opposed to shallow short term ones. 
 
Short term: “I want to look good for the beach this summer.” 
 
Long term: “I want to improve my confidence, self worth and be proud of who I am.“
 
 
  • Use positive emotions rather than negative emotions will.  
 
Negative: “If I don’t go to the gym I’ll feel guilty.”
 
Positive: “I look forward to having some me time at the gym where I can focus and clear my head. I always feel better AFTER!”
 
 
Having the right kind of motivation will not only empower your workouts but your entire life will be a runaway success.
